Elements for galvanizing - a Titanbau speciality

Surface coating has gained in importance in recent years, so much so that today, numerous power conducting suspended devices, which are connected as anodes with the parts to be coated, are made of titanium. This means that it is no longer necessary to tolerate continuous loss of material and therefore the diameter of the device and the contact remain constant, thus eliminating faults at source, which might arise from poor surface contact. With tianium frames, hooks, anode holders, anodes and anode baskets the oxide film provides further protection against power loss. The lower level of electrical conductivity is compensated for by the appropriate selection of the material diameter or by providing the titanium surface with an extremely thin coating of platinum. With higher current densities, it is possible to use copper rods, coated with titanium, as an alternative.

Suitable vessels are employed to collect the anode material, in order to retain their residue, especially nickel, until it is finally dissolved in the chrome bath, in order to achieve the application of a more precise coating thickness.

Titanium anode baskets, in all shapes and sizes, are especially suitable in this area, to conduct the current on to the anode residue, without themselves being dissolved.
In this application, the broad sides of the baskets are made of titanium rib mesh.

The anode baskets are available, on request, with fitted polypropelene linings which reduce the soiling of the baths.
Titanium anode baskets are also suitable for use in electrolytes, such as copper, zinc, tin, cadmium and other mainly acidic baths.
